The

Train to Skeleton Coast

Set in 1989, the story centers around Maggie Grayson, a student from Yale University, who discovers the dead body of a dark skinned South African woman in the Newport Hotel.

After reporting the murder to the police, she discovers that the victim was a housekeeper at the hotel who was taking care of an 8 year old girl and a 2 year old boy from Namibia.

Maggie is asked to take the boy back to his country, immersing her into an international conspiracy that makes her a target of a South African secret intelligence agency gone rogue pre-apartheid.

This novel was entered into the international Eludia 2015 Book Award competition, and came out as a finalist. It is Jean Krasno's first work of fiction.
